Students who register for the full academic year (which starts in September) are offered two instalment options:

payment in two instalments – 50% of the tuition fee balance paid as a condition of registration and 50% due on the last working day in January
We do not produce tuition fee invoices for international fee paying students. If you are registering for your first year of study you can find your tuition fee balance on your offer letter. If you are a returning student and require evidence that payment is owed to the University, you can request a tuition fee certificate from the tuition fees team.

A late payment charge of £25 may be incurred for any instalments not received by the due date.
Any direct debit or cheque payments that are returned to the University unpaid will be classified as a late payment, and the late payment charge of £25 may be applied. Defaulting on direct debit payments may result in this facility being refused as a payment option to you in future years.
Deactivation of University facilities
If instalments remain unpaid the University may also remove your University IT and Library facilities until the outstanding amounts have been paid in full. This means you will be unable to access your computer logins (e-mail, Canvas, file store etc.), University libraries and some University buildings.
If your access is removed you will need to pay the outstanding amount of fees for your access to be reinstated. It can take 24-48 hours for your access to be reinstated.

As an undergraduate home fee paying student you are allowed to register at the start of the academic year without making any payments towards your tuition fees.

If the full tuition fee balance is paid by the 34% instalment deadline you will receive a 2% early payment discount (terms and conditions apply). The 2% discount can be deducted from the total amount paid to the University.
Tuition fee invoice
We will not issue a tuition fee invoice if:
you have paidyour tuition fee balance in full before the 15th October
Your student loan provider has confirmed to us that you have a tuition fee loan in place
If there is a tuition fee balance on your account, we will issue an invoice and send it to your student email account by the end of October. The invoice outlines the balance on your account and your instalment amounts and deadlines.
If you receive an invoice but believe that you shouldn't have a balance on your tuition fee account, take the following action if you have:
paid your tuition fee balance but it is not reflected on your invoice, email proof of payment and your student number to cash@prison-earth.com
applied for a tuition fee loan but have received a tuition fee invoice, then your loan may not be finalised by the Student Loans Company. You should contact the Student Loans Company to resolve the issue and keep the tuition fees team updated on your progress.
If the full tuition fee balance is paid by the end of registration week, you will receive a 2% early payment discount (terms and conditions apply). The 2% discount can be deducted from the total amount paid to the University.
Pay in six instalments
You may be eligible to pay by six instalments if you:
You'll be asked to pay your first instalment upon registration.
If you're in receipt of the Postgraduate Masters Loan from the Student Loans Company, you can defer the payment of your first instalment until you have received the first disbursement of your loan. We can only offer deferral of the first instalment payment when we receive notification from the Student Loans Company that your loan has been fully approved. We will contact you when we receive notification of your loan to ask if you intend to use it to pay for your tuition fees
The remaining five tuition fee instalments will be taken by direct debit.

We can only offer this option when the Student Loans Company has confirmed to the University that your loan has been fully approved. Once this notification has been received, the University will contact you to find out if you would like to pay in three instalments.
You will be asked to pay your first instalment upon registration or upon receipt of the first disbursement of your loan. The remaining two tuition fee instalments will be taken by direct debit.

Non-eligible courses
If your course is noteligible to pay in six or three instalments, you will usually pay either by two annual tuition fee instalments or pay your annual tuition fees in full at registration. Examples of ineligible courses:
some part-time courses
some courses with January or flexible start dates
some continuous professional development (CPD) courses/modules, credit accumulation or where you pay per module

Students who are not in receipt of the postgraduate master's loan must pay at least 50% of their tuition fee balance for the academic year before they are allowed to register. The final 50% payment will be due on the last working day in January.
